Step 1: Customising Your Photo Carousel Template in Canva

Once you’ve purchased and downloaded your Canva photo carousel template, follow these steps to edit it:

📌 How to Edit Your Canva Carousel Template:

1️⃣ Open the Canva template link and click “Use Template” to start editing (make sure you choose how many slides you want to use by clicking on the correct link).
2️⃣ Upload your preferred images by clicking “Uploads” on the left-hand panel.
3️⃣ Drag and drop images into the designated spaces—our templates include photo placeholders and coloured blocks, so you can easily switch between styles (see example below).
4️⃣ Adjust the layout, text, and branding elements to match your aesthetic.
5️⃣ Ensure all images align perfectly for a seamless transition between slides.

💡 Pro Tip: You can add extra slides at the beginning or end to include a testimonial, call-to-action, or extra branding details.

💡 Pro Tip: Duplicate your designs BEFORE you work on them so you always have a fallback copy of the original designs you can come back to if you need to.

Step 2: Splitting Your Carousel into Individual Slides

Once your layout is complete, you’ll need to split the full-width design into separate slides. Follow these simple steps to do this effortlessly:

📌 How to Split Your Canva Carousel Template into Individual Slides:

1️⃣ Download your Canva design as a JPEG file (File > Download > JPEG).
2️⃣ Go to PineTools Split Image (a free online tool for splitting images).
3️⃣ Upload your downloaded JPEG file.
4️⃣ Select the following settings:

• How to split image: Horizontally
• Split By: Quantity of blocks (equal width)
• Quantity of blocks: 6 (or adjust based on the number of slides)
• Format: Same as input
• Image quality: 100
  5️⃣ Click “Split Image” and download the zip file to access the separate slides.

💡 Pro Tip: We’ve designed these templates as 5, 6 and 7-image slide carousels, but you can add more slides before or after to include additional testimonials or information slides at the end.

Step 3: Uploading & Posting Your Carousel to Instagram

Now that your slides are ready, it’s time to upload them to Instagram.

📌 How to Post a Seamless Carousel on Instagram:

1️⃣ Open Instagram and tap “+” to create a new post.
2️⃣ Select the carousel option and choose all the individual slides in the correct order.
3️⃣ Tap “Next” and apply any final adjustments (though Canva exports should already be Instagram-ready!).
4️⃣ Write your caption and add relevant hashtags to increase reach.
5️⃣ Hit “Post”, and your carousel will appear as a seamless scrolling design!

💡 Pro Tip: If you want to schedule your post, use a free scheduling tool like Meta Business Suite, Planoly, or Later to set up automatic posting. Or depending on your type of account instagram might let you use their free scheduling tool in the app itself.
